As always, Sprint is the magazine it is because of input from you, the members. Our team of voluntary Editors (yes, we do this in our 'spare' time!!!) work hard every month to bring you a magazine packed full of TVR articles and news. However, we know there's a lot of interesting stuff out there that we don't get to see..... so we need to add yet another Newshound to help us track even more of them down.

2009/2012 Dunlop TVR Champion Tim Davis made it three championships in six years at Oulton Park at the weekend when he lifted the 2014 trophy after his seventh win of the season in his AJP Tuscan. Close behind was Class B Champion Jim Walsh in his Tuscan RV8 and in third position, and second in Class A was 2011 Champion Hugh Marshall, also in an ATP Tuscan. Class C was won by championship rookie Mike Luck in a Chimaera, fourth overall. Last year’s champion, Dean Cook, had moved up to Class A+ with a Sagaris AJP in which he took class honours and eighth overall with nine victories and one second place. Congratulations to them all.
There were 3 finalists for this year’s award and in any other year, any one of the 3 would have run away with the title. Joining Howard in the trio were Nick Halstead and Chris Gilpin. Nick presented an absolutely stunning restoration and upgrade to a 1994 4.0 Chimaera adding a supercharger and with all work, including the respray, being carried out by Nick or his father. Chris took a near basket case 3000M that had been involved in a major frontal impact and with the help of a new chassis and many thousands of hours work, returned it back into the car that it was when it left the factory in 1978. But there can be only one winner, and in a very close contest, by just 2 votes, Howard took the trophy with the balance tipping ever so slightly in his favour because of the nature of the car that he restored, with it being PRW’s own car, and for his perseverance in getting the car released from TVR just 6 days before the company was sold to Nikolai Smolenski when all other prospective purchasers had been flatly turned down.
