The National Gathering 2005
took place in York. North Yorkshire Region organised
the Big Northern Gathering (BNG) on Sept 10th
and 11th - enlarging the event to incorporate
the National do. Over the two days 160 cars attended
the event. On day one 100 people enjoyed two
organised drives out around the county, taking
in beautiful scenery and a fine lunch.
That night they got together in York city centre to swap
stories and share a few drinks with old friends and new
ones.
The Sunday morning saw the local police block off
junctions to enable a 103 car parade through the
city centre. Gathering at the "Eye of York" the
cars drove over the river Ouse and out to the race
course before continuing to the famous Castle Howard
stately home where 160 cars gathered.
All attendees took great delight in the vehicles congregated,
and took the opportunity to speak with all 3 Northern
TVR dealers who attended with the latest in TVRs, including
the Tuscan convertible.
Leaving with a commemorative mug in their hand those
attending stated the weekend had been a great success.
