TVR return to Le Mans

A TVR Grantura Mk. 3 was entered in the inaugural running of the Le Mans Classic event to held over the weekend of 21/22 September 2003.

This historic TVR is owned by classic racer Rob Grant who has campaigned the car across Europe since the late 1980’s when he acquired it in a rather sorry state.

Since then the car has been fully restored and now faces perhaps its sternest test to date. Racing alongside much more exotic machinery it will evoke memories for those who can recall the last time TVR officially entered cars at the world famous circuit.

The car itself was one of three factory lightweight cars built in 1963 for competition use.

The entry is particularly interesting as it is jointly sponsored by the Castrol, the TVR Car Club and TVR main dealer TMS Performance vehicles of Melton Mowbray.

The team is also honored to have the official endorsement and support of Peter Wheeler Chairman and owner of TVR Engineering.
