TVRCC Regional Websites
A website is an ideal way of keeping your members informed and letting new members know more about what you can do for them. Most TVRCC regions have already had a website provided by the club over the last 15 years or so. However some of these may have been left unused for some time by previous Regional Organisers so if you would like to regain access, or have an old or dormant site that needs updating the the current editable system please contact the club office - firstname.lastname@example.org
Domain names (website addresses)
The TVRCC registers and maintains domain names for most regions now; these are typically www.tvrcc-yourcounty.co.uk. Please DO NOT register any domain names for TVRCC use by yourself. If you would like a new domain name, maybe because your Region has changed names then please contact the club office - email@example.com
Email forwarding (email addresses)
The TVRCC will provide all ROs with an email address such as firstname.lastname@example.org. This will be forwarded automatically direct to your personal email address. This means you do not have to setup any new mailboxes or passwords, or divulge your home email address to new members. It is also far easier for us to update and change, rather than having to revise email details on the website, should you need to change your home email address or stand down and pass the role to someone else. If you would like a TVRCC RO email address please contact the club office - email@example.com
Editable Regional websites
The TVRCC cannot obviously maintain and add news and content to a website for each region, the club website is enough work! However we can offer a CMS (Content Management System) regional website in the TVRCC design style that can be updated via your internet browser. It will allow you to maintain your website quickly and easily.
A few very old established regions have had their own designed websites over the years. Unfortunately we have found that when the local web designer, or you as RO step down, your successors are left with a site they cannot edit in most cases, as well as some unexpected costs for services or hosting that your predessors may have signed up to. Which is why we prefer the use of TVRCC sites where we can simply provide a new password for access, and all the archived news and photo is maintained for the members.
The Regional website CMS system now has many new requested features to make it far easier to use. The big plus points are:
If your region already has an old style TVRCC template site and you would like to swop to a new one (and we haven't already been in touch), then the existing contents can be transferred. If you want a transfer or want to swop to a TVRCC site from your existing self designed one please contact firstname.lastname@example.org with your web address, name, region and membership number.
