It's the event you've all been waiting for, the TVRCC's 60th Anniversary return to Millbrook
First of all, our humble apologies that it has taken a little while to get this on sale, as we worked through the final details of our visit. The management team has changed at Millbrook, which has altered what has been offered to us.
As previously, you must be a TVRCC member to attend this event. |
The timeline of the weekend is as follows.
We will be visiting Millbrook Proving Ground during the day on Saturday August 9th, accompanied as before by Drone Videographers and a Photography Team to capture all action footage. There will be a lunch break around the middle of the day, the exact time is yet to be confirmed. At the start of the afternoon session all attending are invited to gather on the High Speed Bowl, so we can capture all cars attending both on video and as photographs. After all the high octane excitement the celebrations continue with a Gala Dinner at the Hotel La Tour in Milton Keynes. Numbers are limited to 150 dinner guests and so the TVRCC have booked nearby hotels for those attending the evening soiree to stay at. The following day will be spent at leisure at the Shuttleworth Collection, a relaxing time at this firm TVRCC favourite. |

Insurance Cover and Noise Restrictions
There are important points of difference compared to previous visits. There were no noise limits during our previous visits, but now things are tightening up and we, like other clients, need to respect this. There isn't a strict track day style noise test of every car visiting, but if you have a noisy car, ensure that you attend with suitable add on silencing that you can fit if requested. If you run a car with minimal silencing, then we would humbly suggest that our Donington Park Noisy Track Day (which has no noise limits) is the right venue for you to enjoy your car to the full. Professional drivers are now required for vehicles at Millbrook using the Mile Straight, External Handling Circuit and the 5th lane of the High Speed Bowl. As you would not get to drive your car here personally, we have not booked these activities. This means we have the same facilities as our last visit, the Steering Pad, the Alpine Hill Course and lanes 1 - 4 of the High-speed Bowl.
Make sure you drive as much as possible to ensure that you are captured on video and in photographs. Please note this is a vehicle testing site and not a track day, so enjoy driving the facility, but remember you are not here to set a time. The marshals will be watching us continuously and have a number of options at their disposal if they feel you are taking excessive risk. These vary from taking you to one side for a polite discussion all the way through to ejecting you from the venue immediately. To date we have had no one sent home, which is a credit to our members and a standard to continue to maintain.
|
You will be required to indemnify the TVRCC for any damage that you cause to the venue, just as the TVRCC is required to indemnify UTAC (Millbrook's Owners) for any damage caused, as part of the conditions of hiring the facilities. This has always been the case whenever we have visited. Your insurer may cover you on similar terms to attending a track day and you are encouraged to discuss the matter with your insurer. The TVRCC has investigated providing insurance for the day but to date has not found an insurer that wishes to provide cover at a sensible rate.
