Magazine Designer - Jonathan Lowey (non committee post)
I’m now working with Oliver and Mark who are joint editors, them having taken over the role in January 2023. I’d worked alongside Mandy previously for about 14 years along with the 2 Sprint Editors before that - Derek Smith and Tony Connor helping to evolve the standard of the Club Magazine into what it is today. I'm always on the look out for ways of continuing to help the team in moving the magazine forward even more, which is a great honour, as I have a true passion for all things TVR.
Having helped Sprint win 1st place, as Car Club magazine of the year, on two occasions at the Classic & Sportscar Awards at the NEC in 2004 and 2016, along with a number of 2nd and 3rd places over the years, hopefully means that myself and the editorial team have been doing something right in our quest to improve the quality of the magazine for the general membership.
I’ve been a self employed Graphic Designer for over 32 years and a TVRCC member for just on 37 years, I joined the Club after purchasing my first TVR a 1977 2500M. I’ve owned 10 TVRs in that time and I’ve used them as everyday transport (except the challenge car and an unfinished Vixen) and loved every minute. Having had a motorcross bike in my youth, it appears I’ve always been attracted to fast and noisy modes of transport!
My aim as a professional graphic designer is to make the Car Club magazine a readable, well designed, professional and visually interesting publication, that keeps evolving.
I also enjoy photography, so this is another area that has become a stong element to making the magazine better in terms of images when needed. With the members continued contributions and the new Editorial team and sub-editors we can aim to make this a better magazine and Club for us all to enjoy.
