History2002 - The TVR T350 was launched as a derivative of the Tamora, with a new and yet again unique body style, this time in a coupe form with a hardtop and glass hatchback for access to the rear loadspace. It was powered by the TVR Speed 6 straight six engine with 350bhp.
It was followed by the T350T, the T stands for Targa as it had two removable body coloured roof panels that could be stored behind the seats. It was said at the time that there were 3 coupes produced for every targa model. There were a few production issues with the roof panels coming off the car which may have made buyers think twice. |

Reviews from the period
...by some considerable margin, this is the best TVR I’ve ever driven. With its integral roll cage it feels stiffer and more together, like all four corners are working in harmony, rather than in discord. And the brakes are just astonishing. So’s the power. You may only get 3.6 litres and no forced induction, but you end up with a better power-to-weight ratio than you get from a Lamborghini Murciélago. That means it is seriously, properly, eye-poppingly fast- Jeremy Clarkson |
The suggestion that you should buy a secondhand TVR is always going to be a tad controversial. Play a word game down the pub and the axioms UNRELIABLE and BIG BILLS are the usual shouts. Whats more, since the demise of the Blackpool company, the pessimists will throw in all the worries about over warranties, spares supply and how all this will affect residuals. |
