![]() Some members may recall seeing a series of requests on our discussion forums last year asking for support to Peter Hingston, who was updating his previous work, 'Guide to Buying a Used Sports Car' which was first published over 25 years ago.We are pleased to report that the book is now complete and contains a number of TVRs from Grantura up to Tasmin, and is expected to be launched at the NEC Classic Car Show next month. Please note, this is not to be confused with "TVR - The Early Years" which is being rewritten by Peter Filby and is also expected to go on sale before Christmas. ![]() TVR Power is now giving a 2 year unlimited mileage warranty on all Speed 6 engine rebuilds carried out at their Bedworth Road workshops. Managing Director Dom Trickett told the TVR Car Club: "We are now completely happy with the reliability of our Speed 6 engine rebuilds and as long as the engine is subsequently serviced at a TVR main dealer or a TVR Power authorised independent service centre, then we are happy to give a 2 year unlimited mileage warranty on all our Speed 6 builds" As well as the 2 year Speed 6 rebuild warranty, Power are also offering a full 12 month warranty on all OEM Speed 6 parts purchased from them. We are now pleased to announce that the owner of TVR Power, Dominic Trickett, has opened up the day to allow a limited numbers of cars to join them on the track. Sessions will be limited to just 6 cars on track at any time - 2 supercharged cars plus 4 "normal" cars - and will run from 9:00-5:00 with an hour for lunch. This will cost just £65+VAT per car. The TVRCC has just been informed that the Purple T400R from the 2004 Le Mans 24Hr will be produced by Scalextric and will be available probably in May 2005. Watch this space for more details as the nice people at Scalextric have promised to keep us up to date with production details. Scalextric have already produced a range of TVR Tuscan racers in various liveries including the distinctive yellow and black DeWalt cars from 2003. As well as the bonus of being able to race these models on your track they are also excellent display models with very accurate detailing and graphics.
The TVR Griffith Story (An Anthology) is currently being finalised by author Roger Shackleton. The book will be a thoroughly-researched, high quality history of the model, utilising material & information from the factory’s ‘archives’ and its professional staff, combined with input from TVRCC members / Griffith owners past & present. Highly pictorial with a selection of literally hundreds of full colour photographs; additionally featuring brochures, publicity ‘memorabilia’ and original artwork.
