New Club Office Manager

Members will have heard of the departure of Jane Rowley as Office Manager effective from the 30 June 2024.

The Club welcomes the new Office Manager, Jo Edwards who started in the position of the 1st July. Jo joins us with a wealth of experience in events & office management as well as running her own company for many years. Jo is married with 3 boys and looks forward to meeting many members at upcoming events including TVR Heaven and the Oulton Park Track Day.

TVR Motorsport - Hugh Chamberlain

It is with Sadness that we note the passing of Hugh Chamberlain at the end of February. Hugh was an outstanding figure in Endurance motorsport running cars from Group C, Lotus, Viper, TVR and Lola to name a few. At Le Mans Hugh could always be relied upon to appear on Radio LM at some point to eloquently regale everyone about the trials and tribulations of the race, in his own unique and to the point way. Hugh with his contacts at the ACO was also instrumental in getting the T400's accepted for TVRs return to the Greatest Race. On a personal level I was Lucky enough to meet and Chat to Hugh a number of times including at Sebring with the Purple Monsters the wide bodied T400's. The stories he has are legendary. I last saw him at the NEC for the autosport show and over a pint or two was told many a story about getting the TVR's into Le Mans, with a little slight of hand. Its often said of people when they pass that there will never be another like them and in Hugh Chamberlains case it's definitely True. Im sure you will Join me and the TVRCC Committee in sending condolences to Hugh's Friends and family.

New Car Club Partner: Hilton and Moss

Hilton & Moss have a great, long standing relationship with the TVR brand. Having been a TVR main dealer in the early 2000's (Castle TVR) our knowledge and expertise is some of the best available. Our merger with Bespoke Performance in 2020 only furthered our commitment to TVR with the experienced Bespoke team joining the ranks. Hilton & Moss is delighted to be working with the TVR Car Club (www.tvr-car-club.co.uk) as one of the clubs Key Partners. An event is already in the works for club members to visit the Hilton & Moss facility, with the date to be announced soon.

TVRCC go Karting

We are delighted to announce the TVR Car Club has an exciting new program that supports upcoming Go Kart racers through fund raising, event attendance and some great days out for all the family.

With TVRs racing heritage and its huge membership of TVR lovers, we have the opportunity to help young racers of the future and at the same time show the cars we love to a new audience.

Jacob Ashcroft is a 10 year old international kart racer for Oliver Rowland Motorsport who has produced some astonishing results and likely to have an exciting future. He’s already appeared in Nickelodeon’s “Extraordinary Me” TV program.

Clicking on the circles on the floor moves you through the tour and dragging your mouse around gives you a 360° view.

Clicking on the 'i' icons near the info sheets provides a larger view of the information (Close with the black cross top right). You can also join the club or buy some merchandise directly inside the tour by clicking on one of the three icons on the counter.

Latest Update from TVR 15th November 2021

TVR announces a funding and technology partnership with leading lithium innovator Ensorcia and gives us an update on the progress of the new factory in Ebbw Vale.

TVR is delighted to announce that it has today signed an agreement with Ensorcia Metals Corporation that provides significant funding for the formation of a joint venture in the EV space as well as for the production development of the V8-engined Griffith through its affiliate Ensorcia Automotive.

Classic & Sports Car Club Awards 2021 - Star of the Future

There were some terrific nominations for our Star of the Future category at the Classic & Sports Car Club Awards 2021 .

The category winner James Millington first joined his dad at events but is now an asset to the TVR Car Club and its youngest regional organiser, taking on this role aged just 19. Not only is he now the proud owner of two TVRs, he’s arranged events including the ambitious two-day ‘Peaks to the Beach’ which was a big success. The club can’t wait to see what he’ll do in the years to come.

TVR Factory renovation forges ahead!

Jones Brothers are very busy! In our last update, we shared the fantastic news that the factory renovations had been given the green light by our partners in the Welsh Government.

You’ll recall that the extensive programme of works, being steered by Jones Brothers, comprises the full replacement of the roof and side cladding to all buildings, and some extensive remodelling of the site, which includes removal of some dilapidated structures associated with the building’s previous use.

Fiduciam provides TVR with CBILS loan

Fiduciam has provided car manufacturer TVR through a further three-year £2 million loan, under the Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme (CBILS). Fiduciam has been a financial backer of TVR’s project to develop a new car since March 2016, when it granted a £6 million credit facility to TVR to allow it to develop the new Griffith sports car and prepare for its production. The order book for the new car currently stands at £40 million, representing one year of production.

Since we were last in touch, we’ve all had to go 'back into lockdown and out again and now back in again', which naturally presented us with a number of personal and operational challenges; nevertheless we have managed to make great strides over the last few months.

We were determined to only get back to you with substantive, positive news, and I am delighted to report that now we have just that…

Big news from Wales

After extensive liaison with our partners in the Welsh Government, we are thrilled (and not a little relieved!) to announce that the factory renovation and enhancement scheme finally received planning permission late last month. This was a long process that ran throughout summer and autumn, primarily because there was a need for additional bat surveys – yes, the factory currently has some tiny squatters…

The Club is looking to significantly increase and improve its social media coverage and engagement with members.

The Covid pandemic has reduced the opportunity to physically socialise and share our love of TVR cars, and while the Committee are busily planning lots of fantastic “member only” events for next year, we need some help to communicate these across multiple social media channels.

So we would love to hear from you if you have skills in managing content on Facebook, Instagram and You Tube.

New lubricant partnership for the TVR Car Club

Motul was proud to be the trusted lubricant partner of TVR cars in 2017, providing manufacturer’s approvals on all its engine oils, gear and brake fluids, for both modern and classic vehicles. We are delighted to announce that Motul and its UK automotive distributor Witham Motorsport have now teamed up with TVR CC to become our new lubricant partner.

The committee have been continually monitoring the situation and the latest Government guidelines. Today after careful consideration, we have taken the unusual action of postponing the AGM for approximately three months. We will monitor the situation before making any further decisions regarding the AGM.

If you had intended to attend the AGM and have not yet voted, please send a postal vote in to the office, preferably by email. During the next few months we will look at all options available to us in order to carry out all the functions of the AGM.

TVR Car Club at the Classic Motorshow 2019

This year, the TVR Car Club are setting out to prove that TVRs are the best and most reliable classic car in the world!

Former Chairman Peter Wheeler once claimed that TVRs were the ultimate recyclable vehicle, as they never rusted and parts were easy to source and replace, meaning they would keep going forever. To prove it, the club has assembled 10 cars that have between them covered over 1 million miles. Most of them have been all around Europe on trips, and one in particular has been all around the world.

It’s been a little while since the last update and we do know that silence is not always golden, but we have been off our feet.

Real progress has been made in the face of significant challenges – the wheels of government grind ever so slowly onwards, but onwards nonetheless, albeit sometimes in a slightly different direction than you may have been led to believe!
