The committee have been continually monitoring the situation and the latest Government guidelines. Today after careful consideration, we have taken the unusual action of postponing the AGM for approximately three months. We will monitor the situation before making any further decisions regarding the AGM. If you had intended to attend the AGM and have not yet voted, please send a postal vote in to the office, preferably by email. During the next few months we will look at all options available to us in order to carry out all the functions of the AGM. Regarding regional meetings, we would advise the regional members to carefully consider the situation and make a decision if they want to hold the meeting or not. We are aware that many Regional Organisers have cancelled their monthly meetings already and we do support that decision. As of today (Tuesday 17th March) we have decided to cancel the Burghley Horse Power event on Sunday 5th April. We feel this is the correct decision based on the present Government advice. The Cadwell Park Track Day remains in the calendar at the moment as the venue believe they can operate the event safely. We believe it is too early to make a judgement and will review the situation closer to the date. Of course if the track day is abandoned, all deposits will be returned. Many of the events that members attend are not directly organised by the club and we have no influence over these events. Club members should exercise their own judgment if they want to attend a particular event. The Classic Car & Restoration Show that we were due to attend at the NEC (27th to 29th March) has been postponed by the Organisers. The Thrills in the Hills and the Rebels on the Seafront events have both been postponed, no date is yet set for these events. While the situation develops, we will do all we can to run the club in a normal and safe footing, basing our decisions on official Government advice. We will be monitoring the situation as it develops and as Government advice changes, we will re-assess. The health of all our club members and office staff is of the utmost importance to us. All the best to you all in these difficult times. Richard Sails - TVRCC Chairman Comments are closed.
