Thunderball

On Saturday, 10th February 2007 at 1900 the THUNDERBALL begins! No, not arguably one of the best Bond movies of all time, but a party like no other in Blackpool. The Empress Ballroom at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool is the venue and it is a magnificent and fitting place for a party in the true spirit of TVR enthusiasts! For those who may not have heard about this or followed the debate both in our discussion forums and on Pistonheads, this event is being organised to say a final thank you to the staff at Blackpool who have built our cars and who have recently been made redundant as a result of the manufacturing arm of TVR, Blackpool Automotive, being placed into receivership just before Christmas.

If anyone who is not able to attend the THUNDERBALL but would like to make a donation to the Event or in other words "buy a TVR Worker a well earned Beer", please email Dave who will be delighted to receive your contribution! (Thanks to your generosity during London Thunder, the organisers are able to fully fund the tickets for the workforce and will be operating a voucher system for them to enjoy free drinks at the bar for as long as funds are available). 

It is worth mentioning that this is the third and final event in this run of TVR events. As such, all the money donated, raised by merchandise sales, auction bids or otherwise, will be spent on the workforce at The THUNDERBALL. 

The organisers are speaking with local Blackpool hotels to secure preferential rates, and will post details within the next few days.

Finally we must state that although this is not a TVR Car Club event, it is being organised by one of our members and has the Club's full support.
