Jones Brothers are nearly there… Let’s start with the factory in Rassau. The current state of play is that Jones Brothers, the main contractors for the complete renovation of the site, are due to hand over the facility at the end of this month. From what we’ve seen, they’ve done a really thorough job, taking the whole site down to a bare steel structure and bringing it up to modern, compliant environmental standards. Here are a couple of snaps we took when we last were on site a few weeks ago: Now to the task of fitting out for production / assembly purposes. Our new investment partners - Ensorcia We mentioned late last year that we had signed on the dotted line with a new partner, Ensorcia. They're a leading innovator in green lithium mining and processing, using a patented brine extraction process to produce high quality lithium content coupled with maximum environmental and operational efficiency. Together with Ensorcia, we have some rather exciting plans for how we will develop TVR and the wider offering. Our new partners have now completed the first of a planned series of multi-million pound investments into TVR which, aside from allowing us to elect to repay early the loan originally provided by the Welsh Government, is now supporting the rebirth of our beloved V8-engined Griffith, and also the brand’s first step into the brave, new world of electrification. The two can, we assure you, co-exist!!! Griffith EVWe’re fully committed to creating fabulous TVRs now and into the future and so we’re thrilled to share with you the very first glimpse of something we’ve been working on for quite some time now - the fully electrified Griffith. Why change a great look? Our belief is that EV is simply an alternative power plant which does not warrant compromising an aerodynamically optimised design. Just as for Griffith, Griffith EV will be designed, engineered and built in the UK. As we did with the Griffith, we’ve assembled a fantastic group of partners on all the new tech that need to be integrated - batteries, power electronics and motors - and we shall be sure to ensure that Griffith EV lives up to the brand’s heritage: The Spirit of Driving. We’ll be working with a completely lovely bunch of secret squirrels to bring the characteristic TVR noise into the world of electrification - we shall never, ever build TVRs that sound like whining washing machines, I promise!!
As breaking news, here's something that might interest you.. TVR announces its official sponsorship of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, to be activated at the Monaco E-Prix (30 April) and the London E-Prix double-header (30 & 31 July). The exciting new collaboration marks a turning point in the strategic direction of the iconic British high performance sports car manufacturer as they accelerate their plans to electrify the brand. TVR’s Chairman, Les Edgar stated: “Our collaboration with the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship and on-site activations at the Monaco and London E-Prix not only demonstrate our commitment to revolutionizing the TVR brand, but to EV, and becoming a sustainable, net-zero business. Our plans to bring TVR EV's to market are well underway, with the first of two models to be released shortly after the release of the newest Griffith and Limited-Edition Griffith EV models in 2024". This announcement follows TVR’s recent funding and clean technology partnership with leading lithium innovator Ensorcia. Daniel T. Layton, Chairman, Ensorcia said: “We couldn’t be more excited for our involvement with such renowned organizations like TVR and the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.” “To see TVR, an iconic manufacturer of performance sports cars, crossover and make this commitment to electric is a significant milestone and aligned to Formula E’s vision of an electric future. TVR is a beloved brand and we look forward to working alongside them in Monaco and London to showcase their plans to electrify,” said Matt Scammell, Chief Commercial Officer, Formula E. Until then - we hope you enjoy the Spring weather and driving whatever currently fills your garage - the sap is rising! All the best, Les Comments are closed.
